“Lucky Man” from “The Emerson Tribute, Fanfare for the uncommon Man”

OltreRock here, today I will tell you something about an epic song, written by Greg Lake when he was just a little boy (12 years old!) and added almost by accident to the first album of EMERSON LAKE AND PALMER in 1970, because they realized they did not have enough tracks to complete the work.

Recorded in just one take in studio, it will be remembered as a precious jewel, one of the most famous song of the incredible english trio.

Sadly the genious Keith Emerson left us in 2016 and his great guitarist and good friend Marc Bonilla decided to organize for him a tribute concert on 28th May 2016 to celebrate his incredible, ageless and immortal music.

So the version I want you to listen today is the Tribute one: trust me, it’s pure pleasure for ears.

The stage was full of stellar musicians, on this special song we have Marc Bonilla and Steve Lukather on guitar, Jeff Baxter on pedal steel guitar , Eddie Jobson on keys + Moog System Modular Synthesizer, Rick Livingston lead vocals, Troy Luccketta on drums, Travis Davis on bass, Brian Auger and Steve Porcaro on piano.

Check it out on Youtube and Spotify, but most of all get this album, it’s for charity 100%, for Dystonia Medical Research Foundation.
